The Michigan Ukulele Extravaganza (MUE) is a new festival presented by Music is the Foundation in collaboration with the Ten Pound Fiddle Friday evening concert series to celebrate the aloha spirit of the ukulele during the doldrums of winter. The inaugural 2022 event will feature concerts and workshops by Heidi Swedberg, Daniel Ward, Lil’ Rev and others with group strums, open mic, and more!

The Friday evening concert with Heidi Swedberg and Daniel Ward is brought to you by the Ten Pound Fiddle (tickets must be purchased separately) and Saturday’s activities are presented by Music is the Foundation.

All activities will be held at the University United Methodist Church at 1120 S Harrison Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823. We are discussing whether to have a virtual aspect sampling of Saturday’s activities; if we decide the answer is “yes”, that will be included in the Saturday festival pricing and available as a stand-alone registration option.

LODGING
The official MUE hotel is the SpringHill Suites – East Lansing University; a beautiful new hotel and a very short walk from the venue. MUE attendees have a special rate of $109 per night, click here to make your reservations. There is a room available for after-concert jamming.

FOOD OPTIONS
We are not serving food at MUE, but a variety of restaurants are available within walking distance. Click here to view a map of the culinary offerings.

COVID POLICIES
We will be observing the same COVID protocols as the Ten Pound Fiddle, which includes proof of full vaccination, masking, and any other precautions that are needed at the time of the festival.
